Hey all!!!

So this week was really only a partial week, but it was a very wonderful week, and time of year!!!!

So this last week was pretty great!!! As you all know we have a group of alcoholics and drug addicts that we teach once a week. So this week being Christmas and all, we prepared a special message for all of them. While I was trying to figure out what I wanted to share I remembered of the story that Dad always shares with our home teaching families around Christmas time. "The Christmas Orange" So I took the time and found it in Spanish, and then printed out 80 copies so that everyone could have one, and then the morning before we went to the Tianguis, and bought 85 Oranges. It was really funny to see all of the weird looks we got for being two white guys in the street with four bags full to the brim with oranges.

So we got the the group, and sang a Christmas Hymn, and then shared the story. It was really cool, and then we shared a small gift with them. My comp and I sang them Joy to the World in English. We then gave them all an orange. It was really cool. The spirit was so strong, and the love I felt and feel for all of them is so strong!!! It is cool and hard to see them like they come in, but great to see how strong they leave!!! They really do change their lives!!!!

So that was the big event for the week. I did get to talk to the family, but that was just kind a minor thing. (Not to make you feel bad, but My life is the same, and I really don't have much to talk about!!!)

So we received the email today that they will be closing one of the areas in my ward. So that pretty much is a for sure that I will be moving out!!! We will know more on Saturday though!!!!

Love you all!!!
Have a great week!!!

Hey all!!!!

So this last week, or two weeks. I didn't write last week. I am sorry.

But this last week was a pretty eventful, and uneventful week.

So we started off the week normal with a normal day of work on Tuesday. Then on Wednesday we had our Zone conference. It was really nice. It was very much based on repentance, and what it means to be a convert. It was a very very good conference, and It was wonderful to all of the missionaries that I haven't seen in so much time!!!

Then on Thursday I went on divisions with the Zone leaders. That was an alright day. I generally don't really like divisions. They just stress me out, and make me feel like I am being judged the whole day by my leaders. And For those of you who know me really well, I am not generally the kind of person that likes to be lead. The only Five people that I want to lead my life are: God, Jesus, the Holy Ghost, My future wife, and my parents!!! But it was a good day. I learned a lot, and just kind of got back into the groove of things!!!!

So then on Friday and Saturday we were stuck in the house for the whole day. It was kind of a bummer, but it was a nice break. We had a battle with our nerf guns, and played a lot of Magic. It is a cool card game that is pretty big here in the mission.

Then on Sunday we had the dedication of the Tijuana temple. It was very nice to be able to go to another dedication. It is now officially the 13 active temple in Mexico. Yeah. They don't quite touch the 17 in just Utah, but it is really cool!!! My favorite part of the temple dedications is always when everyone sings "The Spirit of God." The spirit is always so strong in the room, and it just fills my whole body with the spirit!!!

Then yesterday we had our mission Christmas party!!! It was DOPE!!!! So to start out we had a really nice devotional, and a funny talent show!! We then ate, and played games!!! I am not bragging... Okay yeah I am. Me and my comp out of the 4 events won three of them. I won the Hula Hoop and limbo, and my comp won the Joseph Smith stick pull. It was awesome!! We won some flashlights, and a 300 Peso soccer ball. It was pretty awesome!!!

It was a nice break, and a nice time to see all the elders from the mission. We don't get to see each other very often, and it is always nice to talk with everyone!!!

So that is all I have for the last weeks. It was great, and we have some prospects to find some news this week!!! Hope you all have a wonderful week!!!

Love you all!

Hey all!!!

So this last week was pretty good!!!

Once again not a whole lot happened!

So the major events for this week. Were that we got to go the visitors center, we had some awesome lessons with some less actives, I at a real style American Hamburger, and my pet spider named Barney Stinson died:(

So this week we got the chance to go to the visitors center with our english class. It was really fun. To be honest none of them really have interest in the church, but it was nice to go out there again. While we were there I had the chance, and moment of embarasment trying to translate for them what was happening. It was a lot more difficult that I thought. I really have forgotten how to speak English. It just doesn't really work anymore!!!

So this week was thanks giving. But it doesn't really exist down here. They always ask why we have it, and what we do. It is honestly kind of a bummer. I always love how much people always focus on what they are thankful for right before we start into the Christmas season. Here the Day of the Dead happens, and then it is right into Christmas. It is kind of a quick jump, and it is just super super commercialized. It is really dumb!

So this week my pet spider died:( His name was Barney, and he was an Orb Weaver spider. He was not venomous. I checked. But after they lay their eggs it said that they die. So he died. That was a sad night to get home and see him dead. I am thinking I will look for one that is a little more exciting though. Like a jumping spider of something. That should be fun!!!!

So That is all that really happened this week. We have been struggling to find news, but have several for this week lined up to find, so that should be good!!!

Love you all, and have a great week!!!

Love,

Elder Mason Millar

Hello All,

So yeah, this week was just a little bit off. It was kind of crazy working last Monday, and then having our Pday on Tuesday. It kind of threw us off for the whole week!!!

But it is whatever!

So for this week there was not a whole lot that went on. It was kind of a difficult week because we ended up having to drop all of our investigators because they were not progressing like a talked about the last week! So this week we just kind of walked around a little lost. It was hard, but at the same time we got to work with quite a few less active members.

I have noticed over the last little while, and have talked with my comp several times about the different strengths that missionaries have, and this last week noticed what mine is. For whatever reason I don't know the answer why, but I love working with the less active members, and have for my whole mission had a lot of success working with them. I just love working with them. Helping them re-learn, and re-feel the feeling that they had when they decided to be baptized!!! It is really cool to see them after they have not been to church in a while, and then to see the change in them when they realize what they have been missing in their lives!!!

Today we also went to Teotihuacan. It was really awesome!!! Those are the pyramids that are there in Mexico City!!! It was a really cool thing, and I got to go with Elder Johnson, and some other elders. It was super fun!!!!

Love you all, And have a great week!!!

11-17-2015

Hey all!!!

So this last week was pretty wonderful, but a the same time a little bit of a bummer!!!

So we will start with the bad, and then get to the good!!!

To start off we pretty much had to drop all of out investigators, because they stopped progressing!!! It is always such a bummer to do that, but that is part of the mission. We as missionaries aren't able to force anyone to do anything. We are only here to teach and invite. If they don't want to take the step of faith, we just have to let them be for a while, and try again later.

So now for the cool things!!!

Starting last week. So you all have heard about my convert Cristian. Well, like 4 weeks ago he got the priesthood, and last Tuesday, he got his temple recommend. So that means that we will be going to do baptisms the end of this month!!!! I am so excited!!!

The next cool thing that happened this week was that we had stake conference. Well it was actually really boring, but I played the piano for the choir. So that was fun!!! It was really good, and we got a new stake president!!!

And the last thing that happened was that today we had the chance to go to the temple, and to the Museum of Anthropology!!! That was fun!!! The temple is such a wonderful place!!! I cant wait to go back in like 3 months!!! Take advantage if you have a temple close!!! Use it. make them close if for cleaning because you are going so much!!! There is so much to be learned in the temples!!!

So that is all. Sorry the letter is short, but my brain is fried!!! I have been up since 5:30, and it is almost 9!!! I am tired!!!

Love you all!!!

The one with my comps tie on his face is because we got in a super big water fight with some members on Sunday night!!! It was Epic!!!

11-09-2105

Howdy Y'all!!!

Yup, I am not from Texas!!!

So this week was a pretty normal week. I don't want to be that boring missionary, but I guess I am going to be!!!

Really the only thing that happened this week was that I went to Polanco to sign my visa for the second time because I hit a year in Mexico on Tuesday. Hoot Hoot. One year in Mexico!!! But we went all the way there, and then I go up to do my fingerprints, and what do you know. My papers don't exist!!! Haha. just kidding. They just weren't ready for me to come in yet so I have to go in this next week again!!!

We have also had the opportunity to start teaching in a clinic for drug addicts, and alcoholics. It is owned by a member, and we have so far taught 2 lessons. They are so awesome!!! So there are 80 people in the group, and we have taught about the atonement and plan of salvation. They are really liking it, and there are several of them that are actually reading The Book of Mormon!!! It is so so cool!!! Not that any of them can come to church or even be baptized at the moment, but they have already asked about how to get in contact with the missionaries after they leave!!

Today we went to Central, and walked through the cathedral. It was really cool, and kind of crazy. It is actually leaning several meters to one side because it is slowly sinking. The ground here is kind of like that it Salt Lake. We are in a valley that used to be a lake. The ground is not very sturdy. But it was really cool. I am sorry. I didn't take any pictures, but it was very cool!!! I will take pictures when I go back again!!!

That is about all that I have for this week.

I will inform all of you that I will not be writing until next Tuesday, because we will be taking out P day then. We are going to be going to the temple, so we have to change out Pday because it is not open on Mondays.

So that is about all!!!

Love you all so so much!!!

11-04-2015

Hola a todos!!!

So this last week was awesome!!!

Being in this mission we have gotten absolutely spoiled!!!

This last week we had the opportunity once again to have a general authority come and visit us. Elder Nielson of the first quorum of the 70 came and talked to us for 3 days. Well, technically he only talked to us for one day, but he was in the mission for three days and talked to different zones. It was so cool!!! He talked to us on Wednesday, and we were with him for 8 hours. It was a long day, but it was awesome!!!

So firstly he talked about the importance of members, and the way that we should really be looking for new instigators. He talked about us having a gold mine here in Mexico that is just waiting for us, and the way we are going to get to it is through the less active members. I am super excited. I absolutely love working with the less active members. I don't know why, but I just feel that I have a special connection with them. I am just able to connect, and help them to realize the blessing that they could be receiving, and that really they are missing it in their lives!

We also had a really kind of boring weekend. So it was the weekend of the Day of the Dead. Super huge holiday here in Mexico, and we were stuck inside. But I will admit it was super cool to see all of the preparation, and the beautiful chocolate skulls, and offerings that were prepared for the day!! It is such a beautiful thing to see all the the rich culture that is here in Mexico. I will for sure have to come back after the mission to be able to experience all of the culture. I cant wait. I will have a green card, and will never have to worry about getting back!! I am so happy!

So other that than, all is well.

My comp is awesome!!! He is such a blessing, and is such an amazing missionary!!! He is learning really quick, and just wants to be here and work!!!

So that is all that I have to say for this week!!!

Love you all so much!!!
